Students' Project Exhibition & Competition 2008

Messages

I feel great pleasure to express my feelings for Student Project Exhibition and Competition “SPEC”  and appreciate the efforts of all the team members to organize such a healthy and informative event. I hope this will provide ample opportunities to all the students to share their knowledge and experience.
Success is never accidental. It is an outcome of ceaseless efforts, commitment to objective and an infilling faith in one’s attitude, capabilities and competence. It is only the constant effort and working of sensitive intellectual, moral and physical machinery that keeps one from rusting or becoming outdated.
I wish all the ‘SPEC’ team members the best and may their future efforts be successful and rewarding.

SPEC event that started two years back, has been providing wonderful opportunity to the students of all the classes of electronics to demonstrate creativity embodied in their projects. Some of the projects made for SPEC bagged top prizes in various competitions held in other engineering institutions of Pakistan.
This year SPEC has been extended for the students of all engineering institutions of Karachi. I am sure that it would touch new heights of excellence.

SPEC is the great event organized by the third year students of electronics department every year. This is a great opportunity for the students of all the years to come forward with new and innovative ideas which contribute to set new trends for the technology advancements in various areas.
I reallt appreciate the spirit and enthusiasm of the students who participated in the SPEC 2006 & 2007. Both the events were excellent.
I hope that this year the student from all the classes would come up with more novel and outstanding ideas and projects.

The SPEC, exhibition of student projects is a great help towards increasing the trend among students for practical hand on experience on various projects. The students took keen interest in this competition and I personally observe some very outstanding and exceptional projects in previous SPEC exhibitions. By looking at past exhibitions, I  also notice that students are very willing and wants to do something very exceptional which was reflected in their projects. I personally feel that this is an activity which should be continued in future as well.
My heartily congratulations for the organizers of SPEC for the pains in arranging this activity and I hope that they will continue their efforts successfully in future as well.

The relevance of Electronic Engineering to our live cannot be overstated. It has recently overtaken the food industry in terms of revenue. A skilled Electronic Engineer in this context is in great demand. The graduates at NED university, like anyother in the world, are strong in theoretical concepts. SPEC presents an opportunity to the students of Electronics Engineering to relate their concepts with the physical world. The past two years have witnessed an increasing enthusiasm in students for this event. The student have proved their mettle as far as ingenuity of idea and hard work is concerned. Some of the projects were absolutely outstanding and are promising product for enterprenuerership. What is really needed is a liaison with the industry to materialize these prototypes into marketable products. I wish SPEC continues its tradition of innovation and progress complemented by a strong industry linkage.

It is good to know that this year’s SPEC is being organized at a larger scale than those of the earlier years. I am sure it will go a long way in increasing the exposure of students to the fast changing technological developments. The inclusion of industry in this year’s SPEC would particularly be welcome.
